Great Falls College MSU Commencement 2023

Great Falls College MSU’s 2023 Commencement Ceremony is Saturday, May 6, 2023 at 2 p.m.

at the Montana ExpoPark's Pacific Steel & Recycling Arena in Great Falls, MT.

We want your Great Falls College MSU Commencement Ceremony to be a joyful celebration. 

When making the decision to attend the Commencement Ceremony, please consider the importance of this event.  By completing your program, you have proven to yourself and to the world that you have the intelligence and fortitude to accomplish your goals.  This event marks an important milestone in your life and we truly hope you will choose to be part of this celebration as we honor your achievements along with those of your fellow classmates.

UPDATE: We will not be able to live stream this year’s ceremony. However, if you or your loved ones are unable to attend the ceremony, we are recording it, and it will be available on the college’s website in a few weeks.

DipLOMA MAILING INFORMATION

Spring 2023 graduates will have their diploma mailed on or before July 31, 2023 to the address requested on your graduation application.  If your address has or will be changing, please provide the Registrar’s Office with this information as quickly as possible. 

Summer 2023 graduates will have their diploma mailed on or before September 29, 2023 to the address requested on your graduation application.  If your address has or will be changing, please provide the Registrar’s Office with this information as quickly as possible. 


Accommodations

Please contact Kathy Meier, Director of Academic Support and Disability Services at Great Falls College MSU if you require accommodations for you or your family members.

  • Especially requests pertaining to seating for mobility impaired
  • Those needing sign language interpreter
  • Family floor level seating.

Please watch for signage upon entering the graduation venue, and you will be directed to the seating area. Please note that guests sitting in this area will be allowed only one other person to sit with them, due to the limited amount of seating available.


Academic Regalia

Caps, gowns and commencement announcements may be purchased through the GFC MSU Bookstore or the Josten’s website, jostens.com. Honors cords will be handed out before the ceremony to students who earned High Honors (GPA of 3.75-4.00) or Honors (GPA of 3.50-3.74).  To determine these honors, each student’s GPA at the conclusion of Fall 2021 semester will be used.

All degree candidates or credential recipients participating in the ceremony must wear academic regalia. Mortar boards may be embellished, within reason and using appropriate discretion. If embellishments are deemed inappropriate, however, you will be asked to not wear them in the ceremony.  Adornment to gowns is not allowed. Honors cords are authorized to be worn as part of the regalia. Appropriate clothing should be worn beneath the regalia. Those who are not dressed properly will be asked to leave the assembly area and will not be allowed to participate.

Note: Please leave any valuables at home as there is no way to secure valuables while the ceremony is taking place.
