Great Falls College MSU Commencement 2021

Great Falls College MSU’s 2021 Commencement Ceremony is Saturday, May 8, 2021 at 2 p.m.

at the Montana ExpoPark's Pacific Steel & Recycling Arena in Great Falls, MT.

We want your Great Falls College MSU Commencement Ceremony to be a joyful celebration. We are relying on every individual in attendance to help guard against the spread of COVID-19. Social distancing and face masks will be required at all times before, during and after the Commencement Ceremony.  Great Falls College MSU reserves the right to deny admission to individuals who are unwilling or unable to observe these public health requirements. We are counting on you and your guests' cooperation so that you, your family, friends and loved ones can enjoy this important milestone in your life.

When making the decision to attend the Commencement Ceremony, please consider the importance of this event.  By completing your degree program, you have proven to yourself and to the world that you have the intelligence and fortitude to accomplish your goals.  This event marks an important milestone in your life and we truly hope you will choose to be part of this celebration as we honor your achievements along with those of your fellow classmates.

To attend the in-person ceremony, you must RSVP.  You are limited to 10 guests (this includes small children). We are required to have their names and contact information prior to the ceremony. The RSVP deadline for you & your guests will be Monday, May 3rd at 5 p.m.  You will receive wrist bands for RVSP'd guests prior to the ceremony and those wrist bands MUST be worn to gain access to the ceremony.

We will be following MUS, CDC and CCHD guidelines. Social distancing will be required.  Face masks will be required at all times before, during and after the Commencement Ceremony. 


DipLOMA MAILING INFORMATION

Spring 2021 graduates will have their diploma mailed on or before July 31, 2021 to the address requested on your graduation application.  If your address has or will be changing, please provide the Registrar’s Office with this information as quickly as possible. 

Summer 2021 graduates will have their diploma mailed on or before October 1, 2021 to the address requested on your graduation application.  If your address has or will be changing, please provide the Registrar’s Office with this information as quickly as possible. 


Accommodations

Please watch for signage upon entering the graduation venue, and you will be directed to the seating area. Please note that guests sitting in this area will be allowed only one other person to sit with them, due to the limited amount of seating available.


Academic Regalia

Caps, gowns and commencement announcements may be purchased through the GFC MSU Bookstore or the Josten’s website, jostens.com. Honors cords will be handed out before the ceremony to students who earned High Honors (GPA of 3.75-4.00) or Honors (GPA of 3.50-3.74).  To determine these honors, each student’s GPA at the conclusion of Fall 2020 semester will be used.

All degree candidates or credential recipients participating in the ceremony must wear academic regalia. Mortar boards may be embellished, within reason and using appropriate discretion. If embellishments are deemed inappropriate, however, you will be asked to not wear them in the ceremony.  Adornment to gowns is not allowed. Honors cords are authorized to be worn as part of the regalia. Appropriate clothing should be worn beneath the regalia. Those who are not dressed properly will be asked to leave the assembly area and will not be allowed to participate.

Note: Please leave any valuables at home as there is no way to secure valuables while the ceremony is taking place. 


GRADUATION Application

To walk in the commencement ceremony, graduates must have submitted a graduation application.
